How can I figure out the paint code on my 2014 Tacoma. I'm going to buy a color-matched grill and I need to know which "black" I have.

I do auto paint touch up for several dealers. The sticker inside the door jamb is right but toyota has about three different blacks right now. If you havent figured it out yet post a pic of the sticker and I can tell you real quick if you want.

Pretty sure they've only used 209 and 202 on the tacoma. Definitely consult the door jam though.

Safe bet. Call your local toyota parts department with your vin#. They will give you the color code.

You can have "a" paint code or "one" paint code, but there be several different shades in that same color. What a painter will or would do, is get the code, then go and find in a color chip book the closest shade to use. You can also go to an auto body paint supplier and have them shoot your vehicle with a color identifying gun, it will allow them to mix the closest paint up for your truck, normally a body shop would only do that if they couldn't find a close enough shade under that paint code to mix for themselves.
