Short version is my rear bumper needs to be painted and fixed. Well my front bumper needs to be painted too, due to paint chipping. I've been debating whether to paint both in a color match spray in bed liner (like currently on the front bumper) or power coating them both matte black (like on the rear bunper)

Also any tips on fixing the rear bumper?

I like the look of paint to match bumpers. I know that looks not for everyone just kind of a personal opinion. If you're worried about scratching it up again and abusing it you might want to consider powder coat or bedliner. Also an option to consider is if you have the bumpers paint to match there's a product called armorcoat. This product is like a spray-on clear bra it's what I did on my front bumper it holds up to rock chips and brush. Unfortunately I rear-ended somebody the other day but to my surprise it didn't even scratch the armored coat it bent the bumper so obviously that needs to be fixed. So I think it's just kind of a cost verse personal preference verse how much you're going to be abusing it and what's best for you. With the armorcoat I would recommend having a painter who sprayed it before do it for you because it cannot be buffed. So if it gets a bunch of dirt in it or other contaminants in it they can't be buffed out. Also if you were ever to want to repaint or change to powdercoat you would have to sandblast it off like you would with powder coat or bedliner.

That’s nothing, I’d leave the bumper like it is, it’s a metal bumper, a few scratches isn’t going to matter.

Put some clear packing tape over the brake light.

    Total cost $0
