    Build thread in signature.
Update: The shop repainted the door from the tiny dent and looks worse to me. It sparkles more. Loved the color at first, but not a big fan of metallic.

For my 2014 MGM I notice the fender flares look different in certain lighting. I just ignore it.

My 2014 is the same way, but in white. It bothered me in the beginning but now not so much. My thought is they are painting the doors at a different time than the body. Not all at once.

It's possible your door was damaged during assembly,if so it would have been "panel changed" and another door painted and installed. Believe me we have paint engineers at the plant I work at who's only job is to get the metallic paint right.

Same with mine. Not a huge deal though.

What I have noticed about MGM is that in certain lights it seems to have a purple-ish tint to it. Bought it in the evening so I didn't notice it. HATE this color...

It may have been damaged and repainted, but seeing that several others MGM have that problem then I would venture to say it came from the factory that way. I have a super white and my grill surround and hood scoop insert are definitely a different shade of white than my truck. At first it really bothered me and I even made a thread on it and others noticed the problem too on theirs. Then after a few months I just decided to live with it because it isn't worth the time worrying myself about it. Nobody else ever noticed it but me. This seems like a long ongoing issue with Toyota vehicles, they've always had trouble matching their painted parts and part of the reason I believe is that different parts are painted at different factories and then put together.

Not saying this is what happened...

I was shocked to learn previously untitled vehicles can be damaged & repaired and sold as new. Years ago while working at a Toyota dealership we had a Celica (ok, that even makes it sound old) come in that had been damaged by chains while in transport. The law in that state allowed a damage event up to 2% of the price to be accomplished without disclosing it to the buyer. In this case, the damage was a little over 2%. The sales manager had the repair shop (not a Toyota shop) break the repair invoice so it appeared to have 2 separate repairs each totaling less than 2% and the car was sold as new without disclosing it to the buyer. To me it's sickening.

satoshi mod, sliders, tinted tails/3rd brake, 3" lift,
flares will never match. plastic and metal show color different. your handles, mirrors, ptm front bumper should all be a slightly different shade too.

    every car is like this.

Just curious if those of you with New trucks who've had this issue have addressed it with the dealer?

No. I figure any respraying would look worse. Above post by someone that had a respray confirms my fear. There are too many trucks with the exact same door with the same issue for it to be a coincidence. Maybe they spray the entire truck at the same time except for the rear passenger door? My truck came out of the Mexico plant, maybe we can at least narrow it down to one plant.
