Has anyone removed the plastic steps for paint or powder coating? I removed the end caps and can see the plastic clip sockets on the inside with tabs on the steps that plug together. I don't want to force them off and break the connecting tab off the bottom of the step and totally F them up.

So......do they pop out with a little force? Try to spray silicone or something? Who has done this with success?

    Tks.

Good luck with that. I looked around for a while, and couldn't find anywhere I could get just the step pads. I tried pulling mine off, and effed one of them up. The powder coating on the original set was flaking off in the front. Just ended up getting a new set. It sucks, because that was the only thing wrong with them.

Yes, that is exactly what I was afraid of happening! I might just mask around the "step" and paint them. Thank you for saving me the waisted experience by posting.

I’ve got a set of black ones sitting in the garage. I doubt I’ll ever put them back on the truck so I should probably sell them. Doesn’t look like you’re local though.
