Honestly, I've never heard of anyone "taking a car back" a day, let alone, weeks after purchase. Especially for some potential future issue. Look, I get that you're bummed. I would be too. But I bet there's a free new paint job in there for you some day.... if I get a free paint job in five years I'll be psyched.

If you find a dealer in LA that's willing to correct this issue, please let me know. I have super white paint issues as well. I have taken it to 3 dealers..... North Hollywood, Longo, and long Beach. All have basically told me to pound sand on my 2017 sr5:mad:. I bought the truck from a Longo.

Have any of these white trucks tried ceramic coating? Shouldn’t be necessary of course, but worth the experiment - and should last 5 years. Thinking about attempting it…

I have had a ceramic coating on mine since day one and reapply when it starts looking weak. Recently switched over to using a graphene coating. Have not noticed an issue anywhere but in the spot where I didn't do a coating.....under the hood. But who the hell would think to apply a coating on the fender ledge??!

Wait. You're saying that you've had ceramic coating on your super white 040 truck since day 1... in 2019. And the paint is perfect everywhere the coating is, but chipping off on the one spot you don't have the ceramic coating? That's insane.

That’s the way it appears, so far.

South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa painted mine under warranty. I had the peeling around the rear windows on both sides. It took a bunch of calls and a crappy yelp review but they did the right thing at the end of the day and painted my truck. 2017 Limited with under 50,000 miles. Worth a call and a drive down the 405.

Toyota is so full of shit for this and they know it. What does the model of the vehicle matter when it's the same shit paint applied to them all? They absolutely need to cover all of their models with this paint. I've got horrible peeling around both back windows, in the engine bay, and the back side of the hood.
