Paint - Is this normal?

I noticed this today. Truck is less than 2 weeks old.

Yes. It's called orange peel and it's done on purpose to protect areas more likely to take rock hits.

Kinda yes.

Orange peel is the texture that clear coat gets after its been sprayed on a car. This is usually wet sanded and buffed to reduce it.
What the OP has there is a thick coating they put on the lower half of the car to protect from rocks. The rocks will still damage the paint there, but they will not penetrate the thick coating under the paint causing rust.

Most trucks have something like this, many cars have it too.

It's not orange peel, before the colour gets sprayed on, they apply gravel guard to the lower sections to rocks kicking up from chipping away into the bare metal of the panels. What you see that's orange peely is the gravel guard, It should run from the bottom of your fender all the way to the back of the bed.

White looks awesome, but if you poke around the forum enough you’ll see the white taco’s don’t fare well sometimes. I didn’t know about that until post purchase of my MGM. Im super happy with it, just need to get rid of all the damn chrome
