Bring it to a paint shop it'll save you future headaches, dollars, and finish will be better.

Unless you have all of the spray equipment and knowledge to complete the job then yes $200 is a bit much. If you have to ask which primer to use then I'm going to assume this job will turn out semi-ok.

I'm all for DIY but sometimes it's best to let the pros take care of certain things.

It only a small part, I wanted to make sure. I painted parts before but not a lot of plastics... I know a 2 part adhesion promoter with primer, base color, and clear

I used bulldog adhesion promoter on all plastic pieces, 2k primer, base, and clear. Color matching comes down on experience.

I cannot give you any recommendations. Check the paint code of your taco. I suggest you use plastic spray cards to figure out coating amount to match rest of your truck.

I'd 2nd calling around a few body shops/collision centers. $200 sounds a little steep for 2 pieces but it will be done right - and usually the work guaranteed to last as long as you own it. It was explained to me its the labor in the prep since a lot of these places are doing bigger repairs - your small pieces slow down their flow.

I Paid $180 in MA for my '14 Accord sedan (Blue Pearl) mudguards to be done. 7 years later they look flawless. looking back it was worth spending the money.
I paid probably $80 in supplies for a DIY on my '12 Civic (magnetic Gray) mud guards years ago. I used www.Automotivetouchup.com who color matched the paint, send me everything i needed. They came out FINE. i actually did a good job.

if you trust your skills - or are at least confident in trying and are trying to save a few bucks, Id listen to the prep and steps posted by @OriginalMan and watch a few youtubes. You got this!

I'm gonna be the odd man out and say $200 bucks sounds like a good deal to avoid the hassle.
This is coming from a guy that's done it, with a fished product that I'd call a success.
It's gonna be $50~ bucks in product, before you even get after it with the labor.

As with all things, it's all relative..

You outta keep it chrome. I have the painted bumper, and believe it or not…. I honestly almost prefer the look of the chrome ones.
