they went around entire truck and took paint depth readings, documented it all and discussed with the Toyota rep. My passenger window was where mine was peeling and they stated the paint in that location was not to spec. 2 weeks later I had an appointment for a repaint not a touch up bottle.

There are several threads on the white paint issue. I took my truck to the dealer last week and then sent some pictures. Waiting to hear something. This seems to be a crap shoot, but I’m staying optimistic for now. My paint is peeling in several locations.

Holy shit I wish I would have seen this before. I am having the same issue in the exact same spot.

Iv been to 2 dealers and have talked to toyota corporate... The dealer says is a corporate issue and toyota headquarters says it's a dealer issue.

I'm getting real good at using touch up paint lol

My hood edges and parts of the engine bay have also started peeling.

Well I spoke too soon. Noticed last week front fender, where hood seem meets each other starting to peel. Can also notice the paint bubbles where it will keep peeling. When the dealership painted my door, they made sure to write in big letters on the invoice “one time courtesy” so I am not optimistic they will do anything this time. Will be calling tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with Toyota corporate. hit me with the lamest version of "our warranty on paint goes to 36mo / 36k miles" to which I responded but there is clearly a defect here? She goes I have been empowered by toyota to make decisions and exceptions to policy and in this circumstance the repair will be at the customers expense. Mind blowing...

I've heard that some guys on here have been able to get this fixed and they spray the spots with factory paint. However my dealers where I live in California are crooks as well. I haven't brought up this issue yet with them but I'm going to try soon because it continues to get worse. The rear door frame where the windows are have been the worst spot for me so far but I've had several chips on the front fenders, the bumper and hood from crap hitting it on the road. If this doesn't go anywhere I may just be buying the touch up paint. 25716.jpg

The dealership ended up painting my 2 passenger doors on “good faith” . Replacing my secondary air pump I noticed both front fenders are now peeling under the lip of the hood, so there is not a chance it’s from road damage or UV like they will try to say

I just noticed mine cracking around the window trim like others have posted. :crapstorm:
Hopefully they'll do a recall like other models.

Guys my 2018 tacoma with super white paint job just lost a huge chunk of paint after washing it the other day. This is behind the window on the driver's rear door. The dealer told me I'm SOL because I'm out of the bumper to bumper coverage by a few months. Toyota customer service also told me there are no programs that can help me, but maybe in the future if enough people complain. I'm gonna pay out of pocket to fix this spot at a cost of 700$. Hopefully no other spots develop.

I would just use touch up paint rather than spend 700 on something that for sure will happen other places

Don’t paint just yet. Check the inside front fender quarter panels where the hood closes. My passenger door was corrected and just last month I noticed my drivers side quarter panel is now peeling. Such BS.

If my paint takes a dive, I'll spray it camo, with a home depot electric sprayer.
"dunkelgelb" is the current runner up.
so far, my paint is fine (jinx jinx)
