Any of you guys out there apply Diamond Gloss or something to protect the paint? I'm not big into spending an entire afternoon to wash and wax my truck. I'd like to get something like Ziebart's Diamondgloss so I don't have to wax my truck. Any of you have experience with this? Thoughts?

Check the Detailers thread. Lots of good info and advice there.

most of that stuff is overpriced crap. Dont waste your money.
If you want something quality. find someone who is willing to do carpro Cquartz, or Optimum Gloss coat. They offer 24months of protection. They are not BS crap either sold by dealers and such. If you wanted you could just do it yourself as well. Its not really that hard to apply the coatings.
Cquartz is the easier of the 2

I plan on putting it on my truck soon.
Right now I am running CarPro Hydro2
Its basically a spray on shock with water and its protected for around 2months. The beading and sheeting are fantastic as well.
its a little expensive. $60 for the 500ml bottle but you only use 3oz of product per 16oz of Distilled water. I got 2 applications on my truck from 1 16oz ready to use bottle.

Here is a video I made of how hydro2 is applied and how fast it is

Pressure washer is not needed. Using normal hose nozzle works just fine

Wife had Diamond Gloss applied to her Mazda 3. To be honest I don't see any difference or notice the added benefit. Maybe bird crap and tree saplings clean up better, but don't know. Good coat of wax probably does the same thing.

My dad has the diamondgloss on his Mazda 6. His car is black and he swears by it saying it keeps the paint looking brand new. Re-applies it once a year.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I was using Klasse sealant for a white but now use pinnacle diamond coat which seems to be holding up to the Florida sun quite well. Expecting about a year on the application garaged vehicles that are daily driven to work etc. seems to do much better than carnival and is much easier to apply and remove.

The point here is I'm kind of lazy. I want to keep the paint nice but I'm too impatient to spend time actually washing and waxing my truck. That's why I mentioned the Diamond Gloss.

    then get the Hydro2
it takes literally 5min to coat your entire truck. you just do it at the end of the wash and in the shade. give a panel a very light mist hit it with the hose instantly and that panel is now protected

I haven't looked at the documentation, but I thought it has a lifetime of 10 years, so not sure why it would need to be reapplied every year. But after having a black truck in the past, I can totally see why a good cut wax and reapply makes a difference on a regular basis. Owned one black vehicle in my life, never again, although I do like black, just don't have the time or patience for dealing with keeping that showroom look.
