The quality of the paint on my 18 is my number 1 biggest complaint. Just touching it causes a scratch. Today while washing it, a good size piece just flaked off. I can feel around where it flaked that it feels like it is not even connected to the metal.
I have chips on every single body panel in places you would never think to have a chip.
Just ticked off. My last 3 tacoma had paint like iron.

This is strange. I have a cement gray, but no real paint complaints yet after 1.5 years. Mine sits outside, gets waxed about every month. I only have a few rock chips on the hood.

Flaking off like that makes it seem like it wasnt prepped right at the factory.

Paint is warrantied for a limited time, check with your dealer.

Paint does have a warranty, but look at all those scratches in the vicinity of the chip. I can gaurantee you the dealer will say that chip was from abuse.

I have a gripe with the paint too. I have not felt up any other Tacomas but since day one, my paint to me seems chalky. I don't know anything about automotive paint, but running my fingernail across it feels like scraping a chalkboard. I have never waxed any of my vehicles as much as I probably should but even so they never felt like this, especially this new. I also have BBP which I've seen some others have complaints about as well.

You can go show them, if they say no, call Toyota Corporate. Otherwise you'll just always have that chip and never know whether or not it could have been fixed at no cost to you.

Had black '12 Taco & absolutely refuse to have another dark vehicle. Swirl marks & road rash alone are enough reason for me

I once had a black car and never again... is not a Taco issue btw, just the color.

Above the handle like that, they're going to blame jewelry I'm guessing.

I had a black vehicle once, never again. Couldn't even look at it without getting swirls. Good luck, hope they take care of you.
