    Hello,

If you read my welcome post I stated that my 2010 Tacoma came with a nice scratch that the dealership fixed for me. They ended up painting the whole front door and blending it into the passenger door. The job looks good. My question is, after a year or two, will I start to see the paint difference in panels? Or if I keep it clean and waxed will it stay as is? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I doubt it. Paint is too new. It should not be an issue if it can't be noticed right now, it will age evenly. Wouldn't really matter later if you decide to offroad. Faded paint would be the last off your worries.:)

You should be fine.....but definately keep a close eye on it!!! If it was a good paint job, you shouldn't have to worry.

My husband and I had a similar situation with my truck.

When I bought the truck, they drilled holes in the bumper for a license plate. The truck came from Maryland. In PA, we don't need a front plate. As part of the sale - we forced them to fix those holes and extend the paint warrantee on that spot. They also had to blend in the paint.

After about 2 years....the paint bubbled up and flaked off in a few spots.

I was still under warrantee and took it back. They re-painted the front bumper again. That was last year..... I hope I don't have anymore problems with it.

Give your dealer a phone call and poke them for information about the warrantee on that new paint. Find out exactly what the time frame is. And - if you feel adventurous...........request for a warrantee extension on that area and tell them *firmly & directly* that you're very concerned about it fading.

Hi Nick, congrats on the truck.

Fresh paint needs time to "outgas" or cure. Usually takes +/- 45-60 days.

During this curing time the paint is still somewhat "soft" and is more prone to picking up light hairline/ spiderweb swirls in the clearcoat.
I wouldn't wash or wax for at least 45 days.
    Good luck
