Just pulling your leg. My last truck was black. And it will be my last black truck. Sooo much work to look good.

Black vehicle is meant for show room only. Sadly I learnt my lesson the hard way too.

Looks killer from a distance! But I too suffer from black paint remorse, even after taking every precaution...

House siding is different from car paint. Power washing or not, there's a reason why professional detailers go top to bottom. I mean hey whatever your truck, but these guys get paid thousands of dollars for paint correction and 0% of them go bottom to top.

IF you're gonna mit wash it then ya. top to bottom AFTER a good bottom to top pressure wash.
But as you say, each too their own, ill stick with the additional step.

Can you explain why it's bad to have water go over dirty paint when you're power washing a car? I found that power washing's benefits were negligable unless you went off-road so I stopped doing it on my vehicles on a regular basis.

Also, here's a shot of my trunk from my old black car ...

And a reflection shot of my then-puppy on my c55 (which I power washed top-down).

Main reason for me is so i can see what has properly been sprayed. Also watching soapy hot water run down dirty paint makes me cringe.
With the quality of the paint on these trucks I feel it can "stain" if not hand washed and dried afterwards.. As with walls and siding (not same I know)
But after enough washes, and enough runs I feel there is some staining that will occur. But no doubt don't hand wash bottom to top!!! yikes!

Ps. Your paint looks on point!

I agree. A black vehicle could make a person go crazy if they worry to much.

Black vehicle ownership is a lifestyle, not something I'm willing to commit to.

Buy tan trucks next time. I honestly can't remember how long ago I washed them but they still look good.

Back in 98 I bought an new Tacoma, only had it for a few months and had to trade it in because the black paint looked terrible, I took a big loss but couldn't take it anymore.

That is a idea I have thought about. I got my title in the mail last Saturday but I may run mine through the spinning brush car wash to add more scratches to help the Line-x adhere better! :)

Just kidding. I cringe at the site of new cars lining up to drive through the spinning brushes. Around here there is allot of oil field trucks. I often wonder if a few of those have passed through the line with all the clay and grit covering them.

Yup. That's the reason why I'd never buy black or any dark coloured vehicle. They look nice but are a pita to keep it that way.
