Don't hear much about that sealant. You use it?

No I haven't, is sitting in the back of my truck waiting to be used. Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to try it. But I have tried Corrosion X products before for my fishing gear, guns and other metals around the shop and it works wonders. People use this mostly on boats and aircraft, but looking at the reviews in Amazon and Autogeek I figured I give it a try. I live in Hawaii, so protection against the elements, especially salt is my main concern. If this works as good as Corrosion X products I be happy.

Colinite 845 is amazing stuff. Alittle goes along way. I always strip the truck with dawn when washing it. Clay bar, then apply the colinite. I have always used that as my wax. Idk if your supposed to wax over it or before it but I just use the 845 twice a year. Looks amazing. B20251B5-CF35-4B59-A011-57BF20ADB0B4.jpg

Collonite 845 is a great wax. I've used it many times in the past. But the OP was asking about sealants. That's a different product entirely.

Just used Jescar Powerlock on mine. Very easy application with excellent results. Topped that off with a layer of Colinite 845. Smooth as glass.

Excellent combination. The Powerlock gives you extended protection and goes on / comes off easily. The 845 over the top softens the "Saran Wrap" look some folks don't like with the PL, and goes on / comes off even easier over the top of the PL.

You don't think the carriers/distillates in the 845 would wipe out the Powerlock? Based on the smell of 845, I would think it would strip the PL right off.

I've been using Klasse since 1986. It was recommended to me by a Porsche collector way back then and I wont use anything else. It started out as a sealant glaze for aircraft and boats and I could only buy it at Porsche and Caddilac dealers around here when they released it for cars. My 2001 Tacoma looks as new as my Lexis RX350 and I use it on that too. Of course there's a bit of rock rash on the Tacoma over almost 18 years but it still gets a satisfying amount of compliments for its age. It's a bit pricey at $24.00 or so for a 16.9 oz bottle but well worth every cent.

I apply it to my vehicles, then go eat lunch-come back a couple hours later and take it off with a damp microfiber towel cycled through a bucket of warm water then a dry hand-buff right behind that. Every six months faithfully. Strong and lasting. And both my blackies shine deeper than 90% of black vehicles I ever see.

I’ve used Klasse and in fact I have a whole bottle but decided to try powerlock instead after hearing about it’s ease of use vs Klasse. MUCH nicer to work with than Klasse. Regarding 845 over PL: I checked a lot of detailing forums prior to using this combo and it seems people were all very happy with the results. I applied 2 coats of the PL about four hours apart and let it cure for about 16 hours prior to applying the 845. Don’t know if my results would have been different had I not waited.

The big secret to Klasse is to apply it very lightly. Which was probably my problem when I used it before.

I just got a small bottle when it was on sale. Looking forward to trying it. Can't get to the clay step after washing the truck because of all the rain.

The warm (almost hot) water-dampened MF towel is my little secret. One manageable section at a time. It comes off much easier with this step and then the dry buff (by hand only) right behind it before it dries.
I feel the heat with damp really seals it in too. Without that wet step yeah, it's pretty hard to buff out.

All depends on the product. No issues with Opti-seal. If it’s applied properly there is no need to buff off.

I do not use that combo anymore, but when I used to, I never saw a problem with it. I kind of like the look of PL all by itself now. (That and I'm getting old and lazy.) And remember, using only a small amount of 845 is the key to making it easier to take off.

I have only used it over Glosscoat. Can’t remember using as a stand alone.

It's nothing out of the ordinary. The typical gloss a quality sealant will leave. Super easy to use & protects everything (paint, plastic, rubber & glass).

Hey, I'm kind of a newbie to this stuff. Is paint sealant the same thing as the paint protection dealerships will sometimes try to sell as an add on? I got it for my Subaru and was pleased with it, but don't know if I can get the same thing for the Tacoma. Any help or direction you can point me in would be appreciated.
