Hey guys I painted the lip of my rims for a "beadlock look". I'm going to use paint stripper to get the spray paint off but if the paint stripper gets on my tires, will they fade the black rubber? I'm removing the white spray paint off of pro comp powder coated black rims. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would not get paint stripper on tires. I'd be concerned it would soften the rubber, however I haven't tried it.

Skip the paint stripper. Use a tiny bit of acetone on a rag. The acetone will remove the spray paint easily. Can't emphasize how little to use. Too much acetone will eat the rubber too though so be careful, but it'll be less aggressive than the stripper.

Or you could just mask the tires off and not have to worry about overspray..

10 minutes spent masking saves hours of cleanup.

My rims are already powder coated black. Will this take off the white spray paint on them without fading the powder coat?

no it will probably mess them up..i used to powercoat and we would use acetone and powder to touch up the places where the parts where hanging by the wire..id try a little buffing compound and if that didnt work id try a little lacquer thiner
