Looks so good, I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on the sport hex grill, I was going to get the trd pro style one, but I’m over it. I like the sport more, hopefully it comes with a badge, then I’ll have 2. What did you use for the front marker lights?

 

Thanks! The grill is 2011 only so hopefully they made your color that year and they come factory painted. It does come with the badge and it’s a little bigger than the 05-10 badges. I assume you meant the raptor lights? They are led bolt lights from Amazon. They fit great and bolted right in.

 

They do not make a radiant red I don’t think, but I’m ordering just an all black one on eBay. I have had it in my cart for months but couldn’t decide. I’ll see if I can track down the bolts, I was going to order a raptor kit and make them work, I’ll send the link of the lights I saw on there that I though would work. I was looking at the full mesh raptor grill too. Mine is an unpainted black oem grill and it’s getting faded and beat looking again. Appreciate it, great minds must think alike lol

Here are the lights I used. I wired the 3 together to a waterproof connector so I can take the grill off by just unplugging the connector. Wired them to the stock side markers with a inline 5a fuse.

If you are super anal about imperfections like I am, don’t bother with that eBay raptor grill. Ask me how I know.

@TommyG what year is your tacoma? It looks great! I’m interested in trying to find that color matched 2011 Sport grill for my 2008 TRD Sport Silver Streak Mica and was Wondering if your could lead me to the best resource to find that part and what u did. Thanks

No prob. I painted my emblem, took my time and it matches pretty good to the grill. You can have my raptor light set up if you want. I took them off...

 

I went totally different with the sport grill from a 2011. Painted the emblem black. Stoked on the truck though. Mine is an 07.

 

That thing is sick nasty! Y’all are making me wanna get an aftermarket black bumper now lol.

 

I broke 3 plastics before going steel. 2 not my fault and one I was in between two semi trucks and hit a dead dear that cracked and broke the third. It’s great for the winch too. Save you and others.

@xrmitchell what did you paint the emblem with ? Does this let hood fit in plug and play? I heard with some of those aftermarket cheap eBay special raptor ones they have to install some type of weatherstrip to get the hood to line up. yeah I’m stupid. I’m prob on my 3rd front bumper and 1 rear by now. All hit by other drivers while parked. When that happens and u wanna change over to steel do u even report it to your insurance or do u just let them pay u and go to a shop with ur aftermarket BAMF and say hey this is my bumper guys lol. ? Just so I know for next time. Lol.

 

I just bought my first bumper instead of putting it on my insurance and paying my $600 deductible. I use rustolium high performance enamel spray paint on everything. Bumpers, skids, sliders, emblems.... it’s a black oem grill from Tacoma. You can find them around, Toyota parts stores, eBay...

Nice yeah I just discovered that stuff and painted my rusty bed bolts with it. It’s incredible stuff ! Do you use their clear coat also ? From these random projects I’m starting to accumulate quite the paint collection lol
