No it's shouldn't but just go to Autozone and get the self etching primer...you will only need two cans at the most.

If you need help just holler and I'll do what I can from the comfort of my chair lol

    What are they worried about?

PS I wouldn't use sand paper, get the steel wool it's easier to conform to the sides of and different angles.

Those rims are a dime a dozen and you can always upgrade them to the new gen wheels as guys on here are always looking to sell them.

Plus show him the photo of the wheels black, I think they look bad ass.

But in the end it's their truck and they are your parents, respect their wishes and they may come around. You can return the supplies you have and get your money back.

My dad suggested getting it done professionaly. I couldn't find a place to do it for cheaper than 100 dollars a wheel. At that rate I would rather buy some new rims.

There's no point in doing it professionally.

Tell you what, if you want PM me and I'll give you my phone number and have your dad call me. I can tell him how I did mine and how they turned out, tell him he can ask me any question about the process and I'll answer them for him. Otherwise, you will just have to be satisfied with stock wheels for now. Sorry bud...
