Let my girlfriend take the truck to the grocery store.. she came back with a nice little scratch. Apparently she was doing a 3 point turn and nicked the wall.

Anyone know a good shop in socal that can touch this up? How much would something like this cost?

    Thanks TW

need to learn more about this stuff
i have a scratch just like that caused by another driver though. we barely nicked each other merging into the same lane. insurance said it was 50 50 fault. its not cheap. they have to remove the bumper to sand properly and repaint. at leas that is what i was told. was going to be $800ish. this is from Pacific Elite auto in El segundo. i don't know if i am going to have them fix it though. that seems way too pricey. i just had my truck there for another accident where a moron turned into me and scratched up my other side. luckily that was his fault completely so insurance covered all that. if you find a better place and deal in Southbay area post it here. since i am going to keep looking. i'll let you know where I go if you haven't made a decision before me.

800 bucks?!?! Or I wonder if I can find a totaled silver Tacoma and take the bumper off? Anyone know any yards that might have a decent front bumper?

Could try to use Dr. Colorchip as a good match and blend system. Smash it up a little more and have insurance pay for a new plate bumper. Least with a steel bumper your GF can hit all the shit she wants. She probably not use to the longer front end. Lucky she didn't take it in for Gas and turn to sharply, hitting those yellow guard rail things. Seems like that is a common thing with people not realizing the length of a truck compared to a car. My Ex wife did that shit with her Avalon. I beat her for it and left her in the back yard with a collar around her neck and dog dish with scraps in it. Lesson learned after that.......J/K shit happens. Learn and move on..

Wet sandpaper grits migrating up to 800, then touch up paint and if you care enough compound it and spray lightly clear overcoat. It's a bumper, after all.

Silver colors are harder to blend in , if water base then should be easier for a shop to make it look new anywhere else your number will look a different color . I would just get a touch up and call it a day until it gets real bad trust me if you paint it and they do a rush job or not match it right your bumper will be a different color . Look it up if you don't believe me with silver colors

I agree. The truck has character now. I know when anyone buys a new truck/vehicle every scratch and nick breaks your heart and crushes your soul, but if you are using a truck like a truck things like this are going to happen.

We all would love to keep are trucks in showroom condition but it's not practical on a pickup truck.

The wife put a deep nick in the side of the bed when we were shoveling mulch. Broke my heart, and she may have have gotten yelled at for being careless, but it is a truck as stated above. The first one always hurts though.
