Just a quick heads up to show everyone new Christmas present from my girlfriend. Aries Bull bar (boy, there was no guessing that present! It looked like a couch!)

The bar was black with the aluminum skidplate (pretty thin to be considered a skid plate) I really liked how the Rubberized Rockerguard from Canadian Tire turned out, so I painted the entire thing in it! Once again it turned out phenomenal. Let me know what you all think

It's a good thing you painted it already. I've got the same bull bar, and the rust has already started (it's about 2 months old). Just surface rust on the skid plate, probably from one of the bolt holes, not a huge deal. I'll clean it up in the summer, but you won't be having that problem!

    Looks bad ass! :)

Good luck with Aries. I had an aries bull bar on my 00' Grand Cherokee and that skid plate gave way really easily. Trust me, the plate on the aries bars are not for functionality.. simply for looks. But you can't beat the price on them! It looks great!

do you have a link to the site you bought that Canadian paint. I have the same bar but mine is chipping and rusting and i need to clean it up and paint it with something that will protect it better then regular paint.
    Thanks

Not a big fan of the bull bar style, but have to admit that black makes a huge difference. Looks much better than those chrome offerings. The finish fits, looks smooth and I do like the semi-flat appearance.

Thanks for the link. Does it dry and harden or stay sticky. I've bought something similar at advanced auto and it never really hardened it always had a stickiness to it and attracted dirt like no body's business.

well i've painted my hoodscoop, grill, and valence and bull bar that way. So far, it goes on nice and thick *very splotchy, but turns out good* and dries overnight. The biggest problem we had with it, was mosquito's landing in it overnight and meeting their sticky demise. But the texture is rough enough, and it is thick enough, that any sort of imperfections are totally unnoticeable. I should try and take a super close up of it, but then id have to clean my truck. we'll see.

I'm honestly considering painting my rims with this stuff, i really really love it. it was about $12 a can i think, and it took me 1 can to do the bull abr, but i primered it too, even though i doubt i had too. its paintable too. id be really interested in seeing it clearcoated, that'd be crazy
