    @AzN_DOOD69

    How does the area where you applied the paint pen look?

    Reminds me of something I would have seen in Iraq.

    I would have liked to have painted mine, but there is no way in hell I'm going to remove my povertycharger to paint my valve covers! LOL.

    I like. Clean and nuanced.

    The import tuning scene exploded about the time I was in and graduated high school, and while I certainly appreciated the imports that were well built, but I never got into them. Had a lot of friends who were though. I was more of the "no replacement for displacement" LSx guy, and still am to this day. Who wouldn't love a LSx-powered Tacoma?! However, as I've gotten older I like import tuning more and more. It also helps that my wife and I have held onto her 2004 RSX Type-S; if we don't sell it, maybe one day I'll tastefully mod it...

    So the area where I applied the paint pen turned out ok. Not as great as I liked because I had a crappy paint pen. It was kind of difficult as very tidious as well. When doing it I suggest you wait for one coat to dry and then touch up spots that don't look as good. Then apply the clear coat over it if you want. The good thing about the letters is that I can always sand the top of it down and just redue it and it.

    Ya I was really really sad to have to have sold the integra because I put a lot of work into it. But I had to do it because right now with the family, (my German shepherd is basically my child) house, and all the snow that is in Utah it's just the right thing to do. And I've already had 2 Hondas jacked from me so that will be the 3rd if it gets taken. But I don't regret is at all. I love my taco and I will continue to mod the fuck out of it. I just bought wet okole for the whole interior on the group buy. All black rears, light grey / black fronts, center console, and extra neoprene for the door armrest to match the seats. I'm really excited for those.

    I actually didnt paint it myself. I used to work at a body shop and the painter had some left over paint from a car we had fixed so I asked him if he could paint it for me so he did! professionally done man! haha

    @AzN_DOOD69 Nice job bro! Glad you made this thread and shared it with us. I gonna do the same and post some pics once done. :thumbsup:

    Let me ask a question in regards to painting the emblem and letters. Instead of using a paint pen, is it possible to use tape and paint the letters and emblem without destroying the engine cover new paint?

    Thanks!

    I think I get what your saying. So you mean once you have painted the cover, you wait for it to dry then tape off the emblems and then paint those? And your asking if it will destroy that paint when you peel it off? I think you should be fine just be sure you have given the paint a couple of days to dry. But if your going to do that you minus well just tape over the emblems then cut out the letters and emblem so they are showing then paint it all at one time. If I misunderstood your question please let me know.

    Yes, how do you think they can layer paint jobs? When I did my old Honda Ridgeline, I painted the letters, then covered them in a large piece of tape. Took a razor blade, and cut the tape exactly as it transferred from the flat top going down.

    Just an update on how the paint is holding up. Still looks great with no chipping! The cover doesn't get too hot because it's insulated. So I'm sure this paint will last a long time as long as it's taken care of and has a couple coats of clear coat on

    I bought everything to do this, just waiting on warmer weather. Nice inexpensive mod.
