Sorry to ask two questions in the same night but I can't stand my Chrome grill. I don't think they have a black Grill but has anyone ever painted theirs?

    Like, so many.
It's super easy to dip. If you mess up, you peel it off and try again.

Wow.. I'm glad I asked. The grills look awesome. I'm super excited to get it done. Thanks for showing me the paint can too. That helps a lot.

6 months later, no chips or peeling! Looks like new when I clean the bugs off.

I bought 2 cans of flat black plasti dip yesterday but now I'm wondering if I should do the Dupli color Bedliner paint instead?

    Removable Dip or permanent paint?

Also I would assume with actual paint you would need to sandpaper scuff up and prep the grill prior to painting as opposed to the Dip that I think is applied directly to the chrome after a cleaning and alcohol prep?

I sanded and then used self etching primer before applying the paint.

I spent 90 minutes scuffing it with scotch brite, looking forward to see how it holds up. The biggest difference between dip and bedliner is texture. The ripple of bedliner is more forgiving to application and damage, the latter of which I hope it will hold up to better. As for permanent, I ain't going back to chrome.

Go with plastidip. I used 1 can and it's holding up perfectly after 1 year. So much easier and you can always go back to stock if you like.

I'm going to paint mine in the morning. I noticed a few went with only the paint. Shouldn't I use a primer? In thinking it will stay longer and look better??

Yup, sand/scuff first then primer or adhesion promoter before paint.
