painted my grill and bumper, what do you think?

    Debadged,Deck Plate mod, Helix throttle body spacer, magnaflow two chamber, smoked corner marker lamps, cb radio, smoked headlights, grillcraft mesh grill, URD short throw shifter, ultagauge, billstein 5100 front struts, spidertrax 1.25 spacers on all four
    so i just painted this with flat black, i kept the chrome im not sure if i want to paint the chrome or not? opinions please?

    i like it! i actually just painted my grill/bumper this past weekend. i also painted the chrome bumper corners. i have pics on my computer at home...

    [edit:] so, my opinion is to paint the chrome. :thumbsup:

    I like it better without the glitter. That is why I bought my '03. Didn't have all that chrome.

    here are two pics. i used two coats of primer and then four coats of rustoleum flat black. the toyota emblem in the middle is gloss white that my dad had lying around. i would have kept it chrome, actually, but it was pretty chipped up, so i sanded it down a bit and painted it.

    ^ More coats of paint isn't actually better, as a matter of fact it's actually worse anything over 3 the paint will crack over time.

    really, anything more than 3 coats? hmm... i was doing pretty light coats and stopped as soon as it was evenly covered. hopefully it does alright.

    Light coats you will be fine. I meant 4 heavy coats. BTW it looks GREAT.;)

    did you take those two chrome bumper pieces out to paint? if so how did you do that? I wanna do the exact same thing. did you do any sanding? please let me know cuz this will be my next mod.

    Looks good! I'm in the process of removing all of the chrome from my 98 but I'm not sure if I'm going to go the spray paint way yet . . . .

    P.S. Just an observation, try out a headlight restorer kit. I did it last week, took about 30 mins, and my lenses are crystal clear now. It makes all the difference.
