It would work on the bumper, but you would have to scuff it with sandpaper first. It wouldn't be too difficult as it is a fairly smooth surface and easy to scuff.

 

if i buy the paint from ebay, which silver do i buy? theres like 3 different kinds.

I'm assuming your truck is Silver Streak Mica so the code for that is 1E7.

How much of the spray can did you use? Would it be worth doing the rear bumper this way? Seems tempting, lol.

Sweet, I'll do this over spring break. I see that you bought two spray cans. Was its barely enough, more than enough, to do the grille and bumper?

 

Hey i was wondering how do y ou know the color of your truck? Does the vin tell you? if so what numbers. Thanks. Im trying to do the same thing to my grille.

 

look inside your door. it will have a paint color code.

 

how do you tell what color your truck is exactly?

Since we just passed the 5 month mark on this project, do you think you could post some recent pics so we can see how well this has held up? Also any updates on touch ups you have had to perform, or things that you would have done differently looking back?

 

what does the acrylic stuff do? my grille is not as shiny would that help?

 

The Acrylic Enamel can is just Clearcoat..
It would definitely help make it shinier.

I actually ended up going with a black grill that caught my eye, for the short time i had the white painted grill, It held up well
