Painted my tow hook

Thanx a lot, but I don't think I need one.... Toyota only put them on the OR's for a reason, I figure...!! The OR's get stuck a lot more with their little 16" wheels, I assume..?? Not too sure... I was just wondering..!

It's just a painted SOS Concepts recovery point . It's not really intended for any hard recovery situations, but does allow the use of a shackle. It looks cool, that's the main reason.

They know OR's like to go out and have fun while the sports spend their time in mall parking lots. Pretty hard to get stuck on the pavement.

 

Less wheel = more space for rubber = grip/traction

Its also rated for 17,000LBS, bolts to the frame in two locations and 3 bolts in the front instead of the two of the factory point.
You know just a proper recovery point so you can do safe snatch recoveries.

Looks great! Curious how much Torque is required for the Bolts holding it on.

 

+1 same question... can this hook be removed and properly reassembled without a torque wrench?

 

What size bolt is used for the tow hook?

 

Just use the stock bolts that are already on your truck holding the stock recovery point.

 

I’m needing to remove the bolts is why I was asking what size they were. Would you happen to know? Thanks!
