I finally pulled the trigger on painting my stockies with a black spray on bedliner. I recently removed all my badges and painted only the "tacoma" ones with the same black bedliner spray paint. I hate all the chrome on these tacomas with the 43 badges they put on them. I did my rims with the same bedliner paint as to match the flow of my truck. I really like the white and black combo on my tacoma with the dark tint on my windows as well. The process is very do able if you have some experience with spray paint and tire removal, it took me around 6 hours total to knock it out (waiting on the primers and paint to dry takes the longest).

I removed the tires, cleaned/degreased the tires (purple power) works awesome, hand sanded the rims down, clean and let dry again. 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of the bedliner and your done. Now guys this spray on bedliner I used you can get it at Advanced auto or most any other auto parts store. It gave me that perfect mat, rough and mean look that I was looking for and I HIGHLY recommend it as after it bakes in the sun for a couple hours it is some strong stuff! here are some pics...

Now they kind of look like steel winter wheels.

Before I clicked on this thread, the title scared me and I thought they would look like crap. But I actually like them. Look really good man.

X2 on the need for clearer pics. Can hardly tell what's going on with the shadows on the rims. I hear ya on the bedliner paint though. I bought a few cans and did the aluminum tops on my tool boxes to make them entirely black. I was pleased with the way they turned out and the finish is pretty sweet. Not a bad deal, even at about 8 bucks per can. I'm also a new fan of Rustoleum's "self etching" primer. Seems to work really well so far.

yeah, it will look good with the 265 duratracs. let me know if you ever do anything with that awful chrome back bumper and/or front grille. i'm really wanting to lose all the chrome on mine. already did the badges and all. back bumper would look good black, but the grille black would look too much like a work truck to me. idk.

No the stuff I used is called Dupli-Color truck bed coating. I did my tires like 2 weeks ago and they don't even look a bit dirty. This stuff is awesome and I think more people should start using it. It is much stronger than regular paint.
