The black coating on my '03 Tacoma mirrors are really starting to fade from the years in the Florida sun. I just looked up a set of new ones and they run about $180 a piece. Just wanted to know if anyone had a shop paint their mirrors and if so about how much would it cost. Thanks in advance.

I have used this and its a very durable professional paint.
It will cost more, ($16/20oz.), you can get it from O'Reilly's major stores.
Its made for all plastics and metals.
They have ample pro spec sheets on how to best prepare the surface for painting.
    "Satin finish" https://www.semproducts.com/product/trim-black-ultra/49143

But you can use any satin finish acrylic spray paint available at your local hardware store.

Nice, thanks for the info! I'll post pictures of the work so you and others can see how it turns out. I'm going to wait for the temp to drop here some first, its still in the high 90's during the day. I appreciate it! Thanks again.

When you say faded are they hazy white? If yes then that's oxidation. Use soap & water with a magic clean eraser & they will look like new again. When they actually fade you will see yellow coming through, usually on the top of the mirrrors is where you will see that first.

But if you do paint them, I agree, the SEM Trim Black is good stuff, no need for a body shop to get painted. Painted my front valance with SEM Trim Black, looks great & holds up well.

Yes, they are faded from being parked out side most of the time. I really take care of the truck but the Florida sun really takes a beating on the exterior. I wax the truck twice a year, wash it about once a week. It has 268,000 miles on it!! No plan of selling it either. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned!

I've had good luck with Meguiars Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer. Use it on my mirrors, flares and grille. I'm in PA though.
