Just painted my center valence black, turned out very nice.

Picked up some sand paper, a can of primer, can of flat black paint and a can of clear coat.

Taped it off and started sanding with 120 grit paper.

Diesel in the garage playing quality control supervisor
    [IMG]

    Making some progress
    [IMG]

All sanded, man that is a lot of bondo. After we got it here we hit it with the 320 grit then cleaned it and hit it with the 1000 grit wet.

Taped off the rest of the bumper to avoid overspray.
Applying the primer. Did about 4 good coats of primer.

Hit it with the 1000 wet to smooth it out and then a couple more coats of primer.

Now for the black. Hit it with two good coats of the flat black.

Let it dry then applied the clear coat. One light coat, wait ten minutes, another light coat and wait another ten minutes then one final "wet" coat and let it dry.

    And the final product:

And as you can see my boyfriend did all the work for me.

Oh, cool I thought maybe you were trying to smooth out the bottom.

I would have painted the radiator while you had the grille removed to really set off the "blacked" out front end.
