I have access to a sand blaster, would that be too much and pit the grille if trying to remove chrome?

I have a Chrome Grill and Rear Bumper. I'd trade for the same grill and bumper in BSP.2005 Chrome Grill.jpg 2005 Chrome Bumper.jpg

I had a great experience with www.automotivetouchup.com for my '09 DCSB TRD OR in BSP. I'm not affiliated with the site at all and receive nothing for this endorsement. I needed a rattle can for my replacement fuel filler door and pick up a 1/2 oz. bottle of their "nail polish" as well for all the rock chips on my hood. In total, set me back about $35 but now I have perfectly matched paint to touch up whatever I need. This would work very well on your grill and bumper as well... just make sure to use a satin or gloss UV-protected topcoat to match the sheen and protect from the environment.

Yes you have to sand, and it has to be done incredibly well. Paint flakes off chrome.
Your paint job is only as good as your prep work.

It's honestly easier just to buy a new grille.

DTM (Direct To Metal) is a catalyst primer that will stick to anything (including plastic, chrome, or even chromed plastic). Once it has cured you can paint the primer with regular paint.
