I search the threads and can't find a process for Painting chrome or the preparation process.

I have Helo HE791s and I want to paint the spokes black.

Anyone have a BULLET proof process?

Let me know I really don't want to screw this up.

Also what metal are HELO manufactured from?

Can't find it anywhere on the net...
    thanks

Most of the aftermarket wheels are made of aluminum.

The best way to paint chrome is to sand-blast all of the plating off and start from scratch. It's very hard to get anything to stick to chrome.

You can powder coat over chrome. You just have to scuff it and use a powder primer first!

I do it all the time.

its simple...you paint it...it chips...you paint it again. mine is hanging in the garage drying as we speak...ive only had to touch it up twice.cant remember when i first painted it. have to look at my build.

hahaha yeah just make sure you take a light sand paper ad scuff it up really good. clean it off with alcohol and it will help the paint hold. put a few coats on there and i even put some clear coat on it when done.
