I have the base model black fender flares and have been wanting to paint them super white, i have talked to a few body shops with mixed feelings if the paint will stay, Just wondering if anyone has done this and what kind of results. I would be willing to trade if anyone has any super white 2010 reg. cab 4x4 flares. Thx

I wouldn't. Much better idea would be to find someone who has painted and SWAP.

Why you want them painted anyway? Much nicer raw textured plastic -- then you can beat them up without concern.

They can be painted, but you have to use a adhesion promoter primer. The white ones that you want to trade for are the same as the black ones, but painted by the factory - you can do the same. Mine is painted and I do not see any issues. If you wheel off-road where it will get scraped and bumped, then it is probably better to leave them raw plastic. Otherwise I like them painted.

it all started with wanting black wheels , it just seemed to me to look better with white flares , sounds like i am jumping the gun. i checked with local rhino dealer about color matching and spraying flares and he was against it , said they would turn yellow in about a year

I've been thinking the same thing. my 02 white taco has those grey flares and I would just rather them black or white.
