Want to paint new UCAs black before I install them. Should I prep them or just put a coat on the red?

Get them torn down to metal and either sand blast them or use Aircraft paint stripper (Any parts store). This will take care of the powdercoat.

I'd recommend getting them re powder coated in the color you prefer as they wont last very long spray painted but options are yours.
