Painting just the chrome part of the rim?

Ok hear me out…..just a thought how hard would it be to paint just the chrome part of the rim? And how would you do it?I was thinking of taping off the black and spraying the chrome like where vinyl overlays would go.

 

If you want to paint them yourself. Paint the whole wheel. That way there is no tape edge, it will be a cleaner look.

 

Isn't it the alloy that has been polished and maybe clear coated along with the rest of the wheel?

 

Yah that part….almost feel
Like taking a weenie roller with some enamel flat black to it

 

The whole wheel is painted, then face milled. Then clear coated from factory.

 

You have to rough up the area well, apply self etching primer then your color, then clear.

It requires time consuming patience and a steady hand.

 

I meant the machined part not chrome…

 

My lunchtime beverage says that won't end well.
