How many gallons and CFM rating was your air compressor?
The Harbor Freight HVLP or HTE spray guns I've researched would require a minimum 11CFM at 40PSI. That means investing in a 60 gallon compressor because pretty much all affordable 30/33 gallon compressors have a rating under 9 CFM @ 40PSI.

The harbor freight purple gun requires 6 cfm. So you need a compressor that can keep up with that. I used at 15 gallon dewalt air compressor that was just about right at 6cfm. I never lost pressure and stayed at right about 32 psi.

The purple gun is 15 dollars and the air compressor was about 450.

Oh! I may consider that purple spray gun then. All their other ones are much higher CFM requirements. Thanks

Yeah it does look like that in the picture… it’s fine in person. Had an alignment not long ago. Don’t know if that is because of the lens of my camera or something… not sure.

Logged in for the first time in forever to add my praise - fantastic job. Love the de-chromed look. I'm just about to start painting my '04, but I figured out a little trick to doing a quality job on a budget: I painted my wife's Highlander first. It was great practice and she didn't mind me that I spent the money on all these tools that I just happen to have laying around now.

But yeah...tedious is putting it mildly.

What did you paint your bumper with? Did you have to sand the chrome off?

What paint and clear brand did you use? Planning something similar for the summer! Thanks, and it looks great!
