Looks awesome! I'm about to start painting my chrome to match my MGM truck.
I've got one question/comment though. I just got off the phone with a local paint shop just to see what they'd charge to do this kind of thing and he told me they wouldn't do mine because I've already sanded it with a coarse grain pad. He informed me that you're actually not supposed to sand it with anything coarser than say, a 600 grit, before using the AP and primer. Supposedly it will make it even more susceptible to flaking and peeling.
What do yall think? Everything I've ever read online says always sand first...

I sanded mine with course paper and everything turned out good. I put 2 coats of ap then primer and wet sand then more primer then paint and wet sand and all over again

Well and I've already sanded mine so I'm sticking to it at this point!
This might sound like an odd technique but I actually threw on a light layer of primer, then before it was dry, went back and sanded with the course grit. This way I could see better any areas that I was missing. Granted, it was a little messier, but I feel like I got better uniform coverage with sanding.

If you're cool with it, I might just continue to post up pics and updates of my painting in your thread, as opposed to starting yet another one. Should be pretty much the same thing, just different color...I'm a little scared of the MGM not matching perfectly so haven't completely decided if I'm gonna do it or just a black.

Yes that's fine you can post your progress on here. Its not going to match 100%. Where are you getting the paint from?

Picked up 2 cans of Duplicolor "1G3 MGM" paint. I sprayed a test section on a separate piece of plastic to get some idea of the color but I'm really leaning towards just going with black because I know it's gonna drive me crazy if the match isnt spot on.
