Has anyone ever had aftermarket Aluminum wheels painted or powdercoated? I've settled on the wheels I want (KMC XD 301 Turbine), but I want them to be Quicksand. What, if any, are the pros and cons of durability in either finish?

Also, as I understand it, aluminum anneals at 650 degrees and powdercoating tops out at around 400 degrees, so it should be structurally safe but Im wondering if the blasting/prep process will increase temps past the annealing level.

Have had a few sets done in past (powder coat) Have all held up great. Like mentioned $60 to $100 per wheel, all depends on prep coater needs to do.

My current wheels are powder coated. Lots of gravel roads, no problems.
