painting the badges.....without taking them off?

    Hello everybody, late night thinking here....my question is, is there a way to paint the chrome badges WITHOUT taking them off of the truck. I can only think of masking everything up, around and inside of the individual letters.
    Just wondering if anyone else here has done this or even thought about doing this without taking them off.
    Like I said, late night rambling, has anyone done it?

    Look up plast-dip emblems on youtube, it looks simple with minimal masking and the emblems dont need to come off

    I originally derped the emblems without taking them off. A bit stressful going as it went straight on the truck even after watching the youtube video. It worked like a charm. It lasted over two years with numerous washings before showing any sign of need for touch-up. Used a toothpick inside the A and O. Pics are in the build. If you want a permanent fix, take them off with fishing line before painting and reattach with 3M double side.

    1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
    +1 for plastidip for this project.

    Did this 1.5 years ago and just noticed one tiny spot on one of the badges that started peeling off a bit. Can be easily touched up or just peeled off and re-done. Not bad imo...
