a few weeks back, I plasti-dipped my badges. Liked the look, so I decided to make it permanent. I put 5 or 6 coats on them and it turned out great. The sombrero now has a couple of chips in it. I know the krylon fusion can say 7 days before its chip resistant, but I'm not big on waiting. Can I throw it in the oven for a few minutes for a little heat treating? Would that even help?

Nope, its an adhesion problem. Chrome, even vacuum metallized plating over plastic, is hard enough that it doesn't play well with paint. The answer is to remove the chrome and repaint or keep up with the touchup.

No problem. There are various DIY methods using bleach, oven cleaner, and brake fluid to remove the stuff. I planned to do that to all my emblems this summer and never got around to it. Maybe its a winter project now.
