Has anyone ever tried painting a truck box? I have found the style i like, but it only comes in the silver box. I want a black one and am considering painting it. It is diamond plated aluminum. Has anyone ever tried this before, and if so what did you do to keep the paint from peeling?

Powder coater can do it. They sand it to get the surface rough, and then just paint it. Not impossible, people just never do it.

Ive done it to mine there is a little write up in krookz build thread that helped me

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-builds/50080-krookz-build-5.html

I did mine and so far so good. However I also painted the inside with textured paint and looks great. Only thing I can say is take your time dont rush it and dont slack on cleaning and scuffing other wise it wont hold.
