I have a 3rd Gen DCSB and looking to pair a full leaf pack with Bilstein 5160's (already have). My bed will be under constant load of around 600lbs. Looking to get 1.5-2" lift in the rear. Currently looking at OME EL112R, Deaver Stage 2 and Dobinson's. Leaning towards the Old Man Emu's but wary that some users experience squeaking with them. I hear Deavers are the best, but are they worth the extra money? Any help would be great here. Don't know too much about the Dobinson's.

    Thanks for any suggestions/input.

I’d personally go icon rxt, gives you wiggle room with adjustments and leaf selection/removal

Thanks, what makes them so much better to justify the higher price point?

Thanks, I don't plan on much adjustment after the fact. I just want to install and forget it. Do they have a leaf pack that can hold this weight and still give a slight lift? Do they have a history of squeaks?

I’m not much of a wrench but did a lot of research on leaf springs before I got Dobinsons on my truck recently. Got the 111-r for my DCLB with a constant load of 200 pounds. You would want the 112r.

The most common answers I got or found online was, Dobinson’s are right there with the best, while being relatively quiet and not the most expensive. You can add or remove a leaf to go up or down to suit your needs as well.

Interesting. The part number is similar to the Old Man Emu EL112R. Wonder why.

I put alcans on my truck, do yourself a favor call and talk to Lew. He was fantastic to work with and set mine up specifically to my truck and for my needs I couldn't be happier.

Not sure. Both Australian companies but separate from one another as far as I know.

Another reason I went with Dobinsons was for ride height. Some outfits really jack your ass end up unloaded. Up to 5 inches in some cases. Leaf spring companies advertise loaded height but there is a huge variance with unloaded, and even loaded sometimes.

i wanted leaf springs that would stay within an inch of the loaded height, when unloaded. Dobinson’s 111r are around 3 inches unloaded and 2” loaded. I have about 250 pounds in the back and it’s right where I want it to be. Can even get away with not having to raise the front because the rake is very minimal. I do have pull off front coil-overs from a 3rd Gen that raises up the front a bit.

They are THE leaf spring company. They’ve been making leaf springs in the US for a very long time.

I have OME Dakar mediums 2.5”. They have been good. Slightly squeak after 2.5 years of use but not terrible.

When I replace these I’ll probably get Deavers. They’re overall a better product with their fit and finish.

I was going to buy deavers but when I called I got what I thought was pretty shitty customer service. I'm sure that's not everyone's experience but it was mine. This is a link to Alcan https://www.alcanspring.com/

I bought Deaver’s stage one, but from the research that I did, it seemed like they were less prone to problems, and they performed the way expected over the long term. I think the thing that drove me to buy them was that I didn’t want to be replacing leaf springs or messing with add-a- leafs once I got my topper set up.

I’m sure there are other great companies and products out there, but everywhere I went, Deaver’s were considered top of the line.

BTW I have 5160s in the rear as well and my stage ones were rated to take me up to about 300 pounds of constant load, which is still in the works. I’m not sure what my overall lift was after everything settled, but a pic for reference.

Icon RXTs will not provide the lift you’re looking for alone. Their website advertises a 1.125” lift over stock for their maximum option with a 600lb load.
