Ive got my gear ready to put together my setup of suspension, wheels+tires, gears, etc. but I'm having trouble finding info on pairing leafs and shocks.
I'll be running Fox 2.5 DSCs in the rear which give about 2.5" lift and want to upgrade leafs for shell, tent, etc.
I'm looking at OMEs but they give more lift than the shocks. Is this a problem? Or am I looking at this wrong? Is there a trick to matching leafs and shocks for the rear?
    Thanks for any help

You're putting coilovers on the rear?

Rear shocks do not give any lift , they only dampen leaf springs or coil springs. The 2.5 on fox shocks means how big of a diameter of the shock body - bigger is normally better - more expensive. Now shocks will allow up to a certain amount of lift for each particular application. Maybe check with vendors @HeadStrong Off-Road - Marie , or Dan with @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc or many of the fine vendors on Tw that give great prices and customer service. From what I understand standard length coilovers from fox can lift about 2" in front , and extended can go up to 2.5-3" in front with the use of aftermarket upper control arms. If you go 2" in front, most people run 1.5" add a leaf, if you go 2.5-3" in front, several run Dakar Leaf packs from what I have seen in the lifted thread. Hope this helps

If you plan on running a shell and RTT than go with Dakar leaf packs. The standard leaf pack will be a little stiffer but it will sit at 2.75" in the rear unloaded. Depending on what size lift you go with 0-2" or 0-3" fox 2.5 coil over I would tell you to keep the standard dakar leaf (2" front lift) or add a leaf with the standard dakar leaf (3" lift). You can add an additional leaf pack that's rate for carrying ~300 # regularly. The options are on the link provided below. I run Fox 2.5 w/ RR 3" lift in the front and 2.0 w/RR extended travel for 3-5" of lift with a standard dakar leaf pack running at 2.75" lift in the rear. I have extended travel shocks in the rear to achieve the greater droop. Right now the shock is still the limiting factor with roughly 1.5" more droop available from the leaf pack.

Look into Deaver leaf packs. I am using the U402. gives around a 3" lift and can handle all the extra weight on the rear
