Really liking the copper rims, a very unique look!

Any issues so far with the bud built skids and the amount of crap that ends up on the Calgary roads?

    Thanks! ;)

The skids haven't really filled up with stuff at all. I really like them. It's hard to say though, they sit tight enough it's hard to see up there. In a couple more weeks when it's warm I'll have to pull them off and repaint them, I'll have a better idea then...

The more I look at all the retrofit headlights out there, the more I want a set. My new cheapo headlights have a broken seal too, so that just might be the push I need to do it. Too bad I just missed that group buy... Probably for the best though haha.

how is the ride with the 886 coils ? any bump steer ? Looks like the 886's match the dakkars lift hight well.

I bought the 886's knowing I am going to be putting a steel bumper on. That being said the ride is decent, but if your not getting a bumper I would probably stick to the 885s as the front feels pretty stiff when crawling. On the other hand... It doesn't feel stiff at all if I get some air lol.

I really like the copper rims, what kind of paint did you use? Primer?. Did you prep them before hand, feel like i may do the same thing with mine. Black rims are just done too much I think.

I couldn't agree more... I didn't want to go black because it's so common. So far I haven't seen another taco with copper. It's just cheap duplicolor rattlecan rim paint from Canadian Tire. I should probably do a write up on how I did them someday, as I've been asked a couple times now.

I used some scratch pad stuff, which I also picked up from Canadian Tire. I can't remember the actual name of it now. I basically just used it to get through the finish on the rims to give the paint something to adhere to and then went to town with some rustoleom (sp?) primer. Then painted... It was pretty easy.

I should update my pictures. My skids are now orange after this last weekend. I didn't like the blue with the copper rims, so I figured I would give orange a try. I'm not sure I really like it yet, but it's growing on me slowly. I also finally mounted my gas tank skid. Damn those bud built skids are beefy...

I bought a Viair OBA system, so I've been installing that slowly. So far I just mounted the pump and air tank... Tomorrow I hope to run the air lines and get it all wired up. Updated first post with install...

I also purchased a light bar that is a few weeks away. I'm hoping to do my own version of this: LED hood scoop mod

I figure if I can get these all installed and my Relentless armor on before the end of summer I'll be good to go till the truck is paid off haha. Well... minus maybe a grillcraft. I'm still itching to do that too.

Re-touched the paint on my rims today... no photos, didn't have my camera. Also painted my spare so it matches. Here is what I did yesterday:

I haven't quite finalized it all, I want a different switch then the one it came with. Once it's done I will put up some more pictures.

Nice truck man! I really like the bronze wheels, and emblem! Much nicer than the blue....

Just a thought, what about painting your skids bronze or charcoal??? I think that would looks really sweet on your truck man! :)

Ah crap, someone actually sub'd? That means I have to update this thing, it's been a while haha. Thanks :)

Thanks! The blue was an idea that didn't pan out, I agree haha. I think next spring I'm going to match the skids to the rims to see how it looks. Either way they're getting repainted every spring, may as well try something new. I like the charcoal idea.

    thanks, I guess?

    Updates:
    - New shoes. I got rid of my winter beater and the trail grapplers were horrid on ice. Good in the unpacked snow, but not so good for Canadian roads... went to duratracs as I had them on my winter beater and loved 'em.
    - Finished the light bar. I had a flood in there first and it didn't have the light output I was hoping for so I moved to a 10 degree spread. Works awesome now, pictures coming soon. Probably tonight.
    - Also I pulled my front sway bar out. I noticed a slight difference for a week or so, but I've pretty much just forgotten about it now.

I've kind of put the truck on hold till I get my relentless bumper and sliders. I'm so stoked for when those actually show up. Instead of putting more stuff on the truck, I went and bought a motorcycle... good times!

One pic of the new wheels!

And then onto the light bar....

I decided I didn't want to cut a switch into my dash, and remembered old fords had a floor switch for high beams... so off to the junk yard for a switch I went.

Here's a shot of the bar on...

    And then testing it out!
Just the light bar by itself:
    Lowbeams solo:

    Lowbeams w/ bar:
    Highbeams:

    Highbeams w/ bar:

I'm not amazed with the power of the light, it doesn't overshoot my high-beams by much... but it definitely makes a difference regardless. It lights up the low end with my high beams on and overshoots my low-beams. So overall I'm still happy with it. And I absolutely love the functionality of the floor switch.

Thanks Snorola! I'm jealous of your bumper and sliders. Some day mine will come in the mail... some day...

Forgot to add these pictures a while back. My Wet Okole seat covers. These pictures are a bit old (and have my finger in one haha), they've formed to the seats a lot more now that they've been in there a while. Although, the back seat also now looks like a dog lives there.
