I'm getting a free alignment from dealer @7am Sat and then going home to pick up gf,son, and maybe dog then heading out 98 from Orange Beach. Going to go along beach whole way. Probably going to be in PC before 1 but will see everyone at the Target parking lot around 1:00. What time does the show start?

What up guys...New to the forum, but been in the panhandle for years, currently stationed at Hurlburt, reside in Niceville...Any of you guys ever wheeled in Point Washington? Makes Eglin range wheeling like a trip to the mall, especially since Jackson Guard isn't fond of anyone wheeling off the beaten trails, and will ticket you for wheeling in streams and clay pits...Not sure if there's still easy access back there (Point Washington), I used to wheel both my wrangler and my current rig out there, access the south sections of the canal dunes just east of the 331/98 intersection...Haven't been out there in about a year.
The land basically consists of miles of white sand dunes that were dumped during the dredging of the intra-coastal water way connecting choctawhatchee bay and panama city's west bay...it's a sick place to wheel, check it out. Attached is a map and a pic of my rig:

I live out in Walton County. I know there are alot of trails that you can ride on in the Point Washington State Forest. Not sure about the sand dunes yet. I havent found them

If you check out the pic I posted of the map, if you look closely where Hwy 98 almost touches the intra-coastal canal near the choctawhatchee bay side, that's where I used to access the area...If you can find a trail into the woods from that area, the miles and miles of sand dune wheelin is incredible, and very secluded...occasional ATV rider or two, but really not too many folks go back there...

The dunes along the intracoastal canal are a good 20 feet above the canal, so no saltwater to deal with really...I know what you mean though, I've contemplated getting a Walton county beach vehicle pass for a while, but salt kills..Plus I'd have to find a friend to get it for me since I don't live in Walton county...
The location I used to access the Point Washington area was just east of the ranger station on hwy 98, just east of the big Christian International church place...there's a sign on the north side of 98 for an industrial park that hasn't been built yet, and if you turn in there and drive to the back of the road there was a single-wide access trail that led back to the dunes...
Its a great place if you enjoy Baja-style high speed sand trails, plus there are huge sand hills to climb..
