Here are the final pics of my tire carrier/bed bars project. I picked up my tire and wheel from the good man Dave at ETD. And thank you Max for the tire! Mounted that and the hilift this morning.

With the wheel in the up position, the viewable area out the back window is limited. With the tire swung down, its great. The tire doesnt sit any higher than the back bench head rests.

Looks better with your tire mounted to it! thanks

Still not sure if I am going to keep the hi-lift there or move it perpendicular to the back bar so it hangs below the bed rail.

I am finally getting around to my limiting straps. Tired of topping out my Coilovers when wheeling. I am following Mike mjp2's lead on this one. I bought Synergy Suspension Multi-Strap Clevis Mounts and sleeve. Welded it to a plate that I will weld to the frame in front of the CO's. Once I have them welded to the frame, I will take some measurements for the straps. One end of the strap will be mounted on the LCA CO bolt and the other to the clevis.

nice! those are on my list for the summer. i was just going to weld on a double shear tab to the LCA, but let me kow how the lower shock mount bolt works for you.

I am actually contemplating the same thing. The potential problem where the strap will be mounted now is that it could rub the tie rod boots at full lock and stuff. I made a tab that has two holes drilled in it that will be welded where the lower shock mount bolt is. One hole for the shock mount bolt and the other for the strap. This way it raises the strap out of harms way. Its my fall back if it starts rubbing too much. Iv seen pics of rigs with tabs welded to the outside of the LCA but theres no way it doesn't rub the boot and tie rod. So, I eliminated that. The lower portion of the strap mounted closest to the CO has the best clearance.

I'm interested in this idea. I'm still topping out a lot. Hopefully the weight of a winch will help that.

It may help on the Road a little but not in the trail. You have some heavy ass springs in that thing.

Maybe we can have a limiting strap mod day. Bang me all out in a day.
