you may find that it's easier to undo the lower shock mount or pull the entire coilover completely when pulling and putting the bolts back in andrepositioning them to maintain the previous alignment. they're so easy to take out i usually just pull my coilovers off whenever i'm doing front end work to clean and inspect them.

Yea. They certainly are easy enough to pull out. Thanks Colin. I should have done this a while ago. They shouldn't be seized as there is only 14k on the truck an barely had a salty winter.

    Chris...

Got a architectural question.. When revising shop drawings I always bubble the item being changed and tag it with a number. Ex. Revision one gets a 1. Then I write the date of revision 1 on my title block.

When I'm revising them for a second time do I still keep the bubbles from revision 1 or do I erase them from my 2nd revision drawings?

I have a feeling Ill be revising for a while because we are always finding something new during demo.

I save each revision as a new file (or roll of paper depending on how you're doing it). if the revision has been taken care of and corrected for on the new drawing, it goes away on the next version. if it is still an issue, it stays bubbled. weather or not you want to vary the bubble color or something for each new revision is just up to your personal style (or that of your company). but that's just how i do it.

That is correct. You bubble the current revision and tag it with a number and note that tag number on the title block with a date and/or revision description. When the next revision comes by, you delete just the bubble and leave the original tag number on the drawing. Bubble the new revision and tag it the following number. All the tags should remain on the drawing for reference.

Thanks guys! I only took a quicky 40hr class in CAD 3 years ago and it never covered proper shop drawing etiquette. You figure I would of learned by now because I have been reading them for 7 years, but it seems no one does them correctly.

and no one does them the same :annoyed:
i worked for an engineering company that deals with large ships. I moved into their navy division, which had a very specific protocal for every single mark you made on a set of drawings. finally got used to that, and now the construction company couldn't give two shits, as long as it gets the job done effectively. drives me nuts.

Cam bolts lubed. The back bolts started to show signs of corrosion. Glad I got them all lubed up. Thanks guys.

Yea... I noticed that too. Some places are very rigid while others could care less.

    Thanks!
