Do keep in mind this isn't all new handles. It's just wrapping paracord around the factory handles. I've often wanted to wrap my oh shit handles in paracord and I've finally gone through with it. Haha.

    What you'll need:
    -50 feet of paracord(Double Cab).
    -10mm socket
    -Flathead screw driver
    -Patients

    97-00 Tacomas:
-EDIT: @Caligula added "You will need a JIS screw bit, it is different form a philips screw bit, it has a blunt tip. Not using this will result in you striping the screw head"

I chose a very dark green to make the green paint in my truck.

To start, you'll want to remove all the handles in your truck. All you'll need is a 10mm deep socket and a flat head screwdriver the pop the plastic tabs off. Once you've got them off the truck you're ready to go. image.jpg

After you've got both of the handles off you really just follow the video below. Or jump on google and find a pattern you like more than this one. Just search up "Paracord handle wrap".

I used this video as a huge guide on how to securely knot paracord to your handles.

After you've got the handles all wrapped, just reverse. Put the handles back on and BAM, the front handles are done.

If you've got a double cab, it's literally the same exact process for the rear. Pull the caps off the handles and pull the screws out with a 10mm. And go to town wrapping them in paracord.

    Helpful hints:
    - The front handles use 13 feet of paracord to wrap the entire handle.
The rear handles in a double use 10 1/2 feet each.

-Make sure you're pulling the loops tightly to make sure there's no loose spots.

-Although I didn't do this, paracord shrinks in hot water. So once you've got the handles all wrapped up it may be a good idea so it doesn't loosen up on you.

Doing this on a 97-00 Tacoma with non hex head screws? You will need a JIS screw bit, it is different from a philips screw bit, it has a blunt tip. Not using this will result in you striping the screw head.

You may also want to get a impact screwdriver to be sure you can get these out.

Interesting. I removed mine with a P3 bit no problem.

Good job. You can add the pic for the other style of wrapping too for an alternative.

    Alternative wrap method:

Here is how you wrap the handles:
You need to wrap it tight but not so tight you can't pull it under itself.
You can use a lighter on the ends so it wouldn't fray.
In step C, pull at the bottom and the loop at the top will tuck itself in. Cut the other end off close and just push it under the wrap.

Helpful hint: Remove the handles before you wrap them:

There are like dozens of styles but I think it will basically be the same as the axe handle wrap.

Here's one where the guy wraps his steering wheel.
