This last weekend was a blast even though it rained a good part of Saturday. The truck surpassed my expectations and did awesome.

One think I noticed was that having a working cb radio is super important on the trails. On mine I could listen but the mic wouldn’t work so I decided to ditch my dads ancient CB and buy a new one.

Decided to get a cobra 29 CB unit along with a ham radio so I have milultipls ways to communicate. Also just installed a new skid plate for the gas tank b cause mine was in rough shape.

Man those white wheels would have looked sick... kinda sad we didn't get to see them mounted before the powder coat.

The truck is back at my friends shop so he can redo my rockers and roof again because he made some mistakes the last time he had it. Once I get the truck back I get to mount my new rock sliders and my light bar. We will also be adding tabs to the Can-Back so it can support 2 additional cross bars.

Took advantage of the 20% off site wide discount on eBay and bought a hilux 167 snorkel for the taco. Picked it up for 100 shipped.

Thanks man. you too. my truck started as just a dd, then I told my wife I was just going to get a cheap lift kit and that was it. Somehow I ended up here.

Suppose to be getting it back from the body guy this weekend. Have my next off-road trip planned for the beginning of April. Hopefully we can get some things finished beforehand.

Little update: truck is back from the body shop after getting the rockers and roof redone. Installed the cobra CB radio along with the 167 hilux snorkel. I also had all the windows tinted again. They no longer look purple! they looked terrible before with tint peeling.

Still need to install a ARB diff breather and light bar I have in the garage. Hope to have that done by Friday for our trip to land between the lakes.

Would like to see ideas of where people mount full size CB radios, current mounting place works but looks kinda dumb.

thanks! so where would you suggest I cut it off? I was just thinking of having a shop replace my muffler because it has a hole in it. Not loud at all really, just bothers me.

I see a lot of people cutting it just after it bends down behind the muffler

I had a shop do mine so I could retain the last hanger.

I'm not exactly sure how the 1st gen guys do it tbh

You could cut it right over the axle so it dumps it down. Or just route it anywhere just watch out where the leaf springs hit, mine currently do that when I stuff really good but it self clears now. But I'd replace the muffler and then just dump the exhaust over the axle and call it a day.

Good looking rig btw! Hows the snorkel holding up? Did you throw any cable in it to keep it from collapsing on itself?

This is pretty much what I did on my first gen, cut it about 3-4" after it started to bend back down.

Thanks man, I have seen people use chicken wire inside the rubber connecting hose but I didnt do that myself. Its such a short hose with thick side walls that I really cant see it being too big of an issue. If it ends up having issues I can always add some wire on the inside in the future. Im really liking that roof rack on your truck, how hard was it to install?

I just used some thick copper wire and spiraled it a few times and shoved it in there. Only time you'll find an issue would be hard gassing it on the interstate or something.

Thanks! Wasn't hard only issue is drilling 10 holes into your roof ha :) Other than that it's pretty easy

How do like that hi lift mount now that you’ve had it on there for a little while?

I mounted my radio in same location but I have the rugged radio 25w so it’s way smaller but I like the location I put it at

Like this build a lot, really like the color too!

Awesome build! Any details on how you did your tank and compressor set up?
