Wow, assault over a parking spot. Did you take his lunch money too? Maybe a swirly and a wedgy?
Not only would I have you arrested and charged but I would be sure to have a large ugly vehicle in front of your house until you moved or died.

Every HOA is different. When my wife and I were looking to buy, I was confused and amazed at how many different HOA's there were. I have read some agreements that say you were not allowed to park on the street for longer than 24 hours and others that do not even mention any type of common parking area. I think it all depends on how your HOA wants to do business.

The garage at my house only fits one car, I have two cars. When the sprinklers are running one car has to go to the other side of the street. My neighbors do it all the time as well.

I can understand the frustration if someone is blocking your driveway, but it is a public street and there are no rules regarding parking in front of your neighbors house.

1.) Is it a public street?
2.) Is it legal to park there?

If the answer to both of these questions is "yes" then you have no ground otherwise follow the correct path.

OP does not indicate that his drive is being blocked. It may be a pain in the ass but, from the information given, I don't think he has a legal leg to stand on.
