parking brake cable trouble.

    97 Tacoma
    4inch suspensionlift, 4 inch body lift.
    I have a 97 Tacoma 2.7 ext cab and I cant find any information on the parking break cable any where. mine broke off where the cable enters the handle and it is worn in a few other spots so I would like to replace it but cant find any information on what will fit and what wont.

    I owned an 03 that had that cable snap twice. I took it to the dealer to replace. The reason for the cable failure was rust.

    You will probably have to get it at the dealer. After it's replaced I'd suggest you pack emergency brake cable points with antisize when you change the oil and grease the zerks. Mine snapped at one of the points because of rust and lack of lube.

    I thought I remember seeing parking brake cables on rockauto.com for the first gens. Mines missing the front section from the handle down to the lever under the cab, just haven't got around to ordering it.
