Just wanted to post this in case someone else experiences same.

This afternoon I went to move my 2022 Tacoma Pro. 5200 miles on odometer. I was unable to move it forward. No trouble lights. There was power to the drive wheels but it felt like the brakes would not release. I don't set the parking brake when parking in my garage but use it when parking elsewhere. I started and stopped the Tacoma 3 times while trying to get the truck to move, to no avail. I repeatedly actuated and released the parking brake also. I managed to spin the tires just a little when applying the accelerator. I washed it yesterday but it has not been below freezing here in SW PA and in fact it is 61 degrees now.

I decided to move the transmission selector between "forward" and "reverse" and try to "rock" the vehicle. It immediately seemed to break free and is running normally now.

Still scratching my head on this one.

Unfortunately a very common issue. Always drive your truck after washing to dry the brakes out, especially if you expect below freezing temps.

normal, wet drums on these stick like a champ.
try to heat them puppies up with some hard brakes, if you have to park after encountering water, or better yet, select a spot no parking brake is needed.

Yep I’ve seen a thread or 2 on this issue before.

I’ve never experienced it before myself, yet.

Wet brake shoes can and, over time, will fuse to the drum through rusting. It can even happen to disc brakes.

I work on Commercial Transport vehicles in the Pacific Northwest and it is quite common with our wet weather. They park over the weekend and on Monday the brakes need to be broken free. And that's just from rain and moisture... not even washing them.

It has happened to me twice and neither time below freezing temps. The first time I used 4lo and eased it back and forth and until it let loose. The 2nd time I gave the wheel/tire a few really solid kicks until it freed up.

Only use parking brake when it is dry and problem solved.
