This is my first Taco and my first Toy, so not sure about some things that just maybe a Toy thing.

When I put my truck in park and its sitting on a slight incline, it will roll just a few inches(seems normal enough). The part that does not seem normal is the clicking sound I hear while it would appear the parking gear is engaging.

The fit and finish on the Taco versus the Nissan and chevy (IMHO) is much nicer, so the clicking sound just seems out of place.

With foot on brake pedal, engage the parking brake (aka hand brake) awhile the AT is still in gear (D or R for example), then place the AT into Park... when departing; foot on pedal, release parking brake and then change AT to R or D (will give you a little more transmission life expectancy).

Rolling, even “just a few inches” or just slightly is never a good impact on any AT... nor is the “clunk” your hear when shifting back to a drive position when departing.

Engage the parking brake and let the truck settle before you shift the transmission into park. The rear drum brakes are self-actuating so they tightening up when they rotate a little bit. You never want the weight of the vehicle resting on the park pawl in the transmission because it can break and it also makes it harder to shift out of park.

The parking brake makes a clicking noise when you engage it. Also, I always shift to Park, and then without lifting my foot from the brake pedal, engage the parking brake. There should be no roll.
