I bought a truck last month the parking brake never worked quite right because it needed adjustment at the frame. I recently rebuilt my rear end. And from lack of good help I took it to a Toyota dealer to get the brake fluid flushed. When I read did the rearend. I put new drum brakes wheel cylinders and brake lines and drums. I did not mess with the parking break at all. When I drove into the dealership the parking brake still didn't work well. I warned them that you have to leave it in gear so the truck won't roll away. After the brake fluid flush the parking brake works perfectly and the tech said he did not touch it. why would the parking brake work all of a sudden after a fluid flush. This is what perplexes me

Sometimes a good technician will fix a minor issue and not say anything. I dont think the Toyota's E-brake is connected to the regular brakes. other than the springs in the drum. I believe they are interdependently moved...This is just my best guess.

what probably happened was, you took your truck in for a simple service and mentioned a problem but didn't tell them to fix it. they wouldn't release the truck back to you knowing that you could easily get into an accident after leaving and then sue. the tech probably just fixed it and said he didn't touch it since it would be illegal for him to perform extra work without your knowledge and/or consent. plus it was probably trivially easy to fix for him :)

you may have had the tech and manager shitting bricks though
